We’re making an update to picdrop’s plans and pricing.
This update is about making picdrop’s plans simpler to choose, easier to scale, and a better fit for how photographers, creatives, and teams use picdrop today.
TL;DR
- Lite will be retired, along all other older plan types, and Pro becomes the new entry-level paid plan.
- We will introduce a new plan called Advanced that sits between Pro and Business (for growing workflows and small teams).
- Business will be simplified, and Enterprise becomes a clearly visible tier for larger teams and advanced security needs.
Why we’re making these changes
picdrop has grown and evolved, under the hood and above the surface, but especially in the way it is used. File sizes are getting larger, storage needs have changed, video workflows have become standard, and projects often involve more than one person.
We want our plan structure to:
- match real-world workflows better,
- make scaling (storage, seats, video) more predictable,
- and keep picdrop sustainable so we can keep improving speed, UX, and security.
We also know that pricing changes can feel stressful. Research on pricing transparency shows that customers are more likely to perceive changes as fair when companies communicate early, clearly, and transparently. The explanation should also make clear why the change is necessary and what it means in practice.
That’s exactly what we’re aiming for with these changes, and it’s the approach we’re taking here.

What this means for you
This depends on your current plan and billing cycle.
- If you’re on Free: you can continue using picdrop for free within the Free plan limits.
- If you’re on Lite: Lite will be retired and your account will move to Pro.
- If you’re on Pro: most likely, you can just continue using picdrop.
- If you’re on Pro with additional team members (Pro+): Pro+ will be retired and your account will be moved to Advanced.
- If you’re on Business: Depending on your account size and number of team members, you might experience a pricing increase.
- If you’re on any other, now outdated plan: your account will be updated to the best matching new plan.
In most cases, you won’t need to do anything right now. Before anything changes for your account, we’ll show your next plan and price in your billing settings and notify you in advance by email and directly in your picdrop account.

FAQ
When does this take effect?
The new plans and prices have been in effect for new customers since May 12, 2026. If you’re an existing customer, we’ll let you know your future price in good time by email and directly in your picdrop account before anything is charged. If you have any questions or anything is unclear, please reach out to our support team at hello@picdrop.com.
Will my price change?
It depends on your plan and whether any grandfathering/transition to a new plan applies. We’ll show your next price before you are charged. The exact timing and billing behavior will be communicated in your picdrop as well as per email beforehand.
I’m on Lite, what exactly happens?
Lite will be retired. You’ll move to Pro and gain access to more storage space and a lot of new features. The exact timing and billing behavior will be communicated in your picdrop as well as per email beforehand.
What about storage add-ons?
Plans can add storage space in 250 GB steps. We’ll keep clear storage scaling options in the updated lineup. You can find more info in our FAQ.
What about video conversion minutes?
Currently, Pro includes 60 minutes/month and Business includes 120 minutes/month, with an option to add conversion time in 60 minute steps.
The updated plans keep included conversion volume plus add-ons, with a clearer structure by tier.
